AD #2. Victorian Sterling Silver Dirk

Blade is11 ½" long, 18" overall. Blade has slight wear.Small fork has a sterling sliver pommel, replacement for the stone lost at some time, the rest is in Good Condition. The fittings are of a very ornate design with thistles. No maker's name. 

Price: $3,950.

AD #7. Victorian Dirk by Peter Henderson, Glasgow.

Dirk is 18 ½” overall. The fittings are of white metal with thistle design and matching stones.  Stone on the small knife has a chip. All fittings are in good condition. Dirk blade and small knife blade show some age. Grip is made of a synthetic material.

AD #8. Victorian Dirk – 20” overall. 

Blade is 12” with slight wear, small knife safety catch missing.  Fittings of white metal, Thistle design, top fitting has the initials T.C.E. on shield face. Matching stones all Good. This must have been a custom dirk as the grip is larger than the norm. Grip is of synthetic material.

AD #11. Victorian Silver mounted Dirk

Circa Mid 1800.  Overall length is 15 3/4'’, blade is 11” with slight blemish. Small knife is over sized with a 5” blade, 3” of the blade is spear point. Metal part of the fork is a replacement. Slight age shows on the sheath.

AD #13. Dirk made by Farquarson, Edinburgh.

The fittings are of white metal, blade is 11 ¼” overall length is 18 ½”.  Stone in the dirk pommel has chip along the edge of the stone.  This is a Very light weight dirk only 14 oz.  Condition of dirk is Fair to Good, Circa mid 1800.

AD #14. Early Brass mounted Dirk.

Dirk is 17 ½” in length, grip of brown wood, blade 12” Double Fuller, shows some wear. Sheath is made of heavy brown leather. Fittings are etched with thistle design (see pictures). Knife and fork are replacements but a very good match with the dirk.  Circa – late 1700.

AD #16 - Victorian Dirk  

This is an older dirk - age possible mid to late 1800s with white metal fittings. The grips of the dirk as well as the small knife and fork are of wood. The tip of the sheath has been repaired at some time. The mounts for the stones are excellent. The blade is 10 ¾", the dirk is 18" overall.

 AD #17 - Bye Knife Dirk 

Hallmark Silver on the dirk indicates 1910. It has a full leather sheath in a very unusual design in a medium brown color. The grip of the dirk and by-knife are made of brown wood. The blade is 14 ½", the dirk is 20" overall.

AD #18 - Old Style Dirk 

This dirk has Hallmark Silver fittings with black leather sheath. The handle of the dirk as well as the knife and fork are wood carved in a Celtic design, rather unusual. The age of the dirk is possible mid 1900s. Blade is 14", the dirk is 21 ¼" overall.

AD #19 - Victorian Style Dirk 

Dirk has silver plated fittings. The sheath is leather cover in very good condition. The thistle design is used on the fittings as well as around the stones on the dirk, knife and fork. The blade is 11 ½", the dirk is 20" overall.

AD #20 - Early 1800s Dirk                   AD #20 icon

This anitque dirk has all brass fittings and dates back to the early 1800s.
The blade is 12" long with an overall length of 18". the grip is a basket weave design made of wood. the fork is marked Pitelet, R. made in France. The knife and fork handles are replacements. The dirk blade has pitting overall (see additional photos). The sheath is heavy leather.

This dirk was made in the mid 1900s.
"R.A. (Robert Allison) Scotland is
stamped on the back top fitting of the sheath. The blade is 11 1/2" with an overall length of 18" The grip is made of week with basket weave carving. The dirk is in good condition overall.

This Jacobite Dirk hails from the early 18th century. It is 16" overall with an 11" blade. The hilt is made of wood with deeply carved rope weave and the brass fittings have a Celtic rope design.

Antique Jacobite Dirk #2Antique Jacobite Dirk #2

This early 18th century Jacobite Dirk is 20 1/2" overall with a 15" blade. The blade is etched on one side with "Prosperity to Scotia" and "No Union" on the other. Two and a half inches of the tip are badly pitted as it the dirk had been stuck in the ground for a long time. A floral design is carved into the wooden grip and the handle top has a brass cap with a Celtic design. It is retained by an iron nut.

This early 18th century Jacobite Dirk is a Quality Museum piece. It has a wood grip with rope work and Celtic Trinity carving. The blade is 15 3/4" long. The overall length is 19 1/4". The grip is small - only 2 5/8".

This early 18th century Jacobite Dirk has a cylindrical brass hilt with a heavy 15" blade. It is 20" overall.

Jacobite Dirk #5Jacobite Dirk #5

This unique dirk's blade is 14 1/2" long. It was fashioned from a 300 year old sword blade. The finial is made of steel. The wooden handle and the scabbard have sterling, unmarked silver fittings. A complete description of this beautiful dirk's creation can be found here.
